Installing Sanctus Extensions
All Sanctus products are now distributed as Blender Extensions (using the blender_manifest.toml format). This means they install through Blender's Extensions system rather than the legacy Add-ons tab.
Blender 4.5+ Required
The extension system is available in Blender 4.5 and above. If you are using an older version, please update Blender first.
Method 1: Install via Superhive Remote Repository (Recommended)
If you purchased your Sanctus product on Superhive, you can connect it as a remote repository in Blender's Extensions tab. This allows you to install, update, and manage all your Superhive purchases directly from within Blender.
-
Connect Superhive as a Remote Repository in Blender by following the official Superhive guide:
-
Once connected, open Blender and go to Edit > Preferences > Extensions.
-
Browse or search for the Sanctus product you purchased.
-
Click the Install button next to the extension.
-
Enable the checkbox next to the extension to activate it.
Automatic Updates
When connected via Superhive, you will receive update notifications directly in Blender's Extensions tab whenever a new version is available.
Method 2: Manual ZIP Installation
If you purchased your Sanctus product on Gumroad or downloaded the ZIP file manually, you can install it directly from disk.
-
Download the extension ZIP file from your purchase platform (Gumroad, Superhive, etc.).
-
Open Blender and go to Edit > Preferences > Extensions.
-
Click the ⋮ (menu) button in the top-right corner of the Extensions tab.
-
Select Install from Disk...
-
Navigate to and select the downloaded ZIP file.
-
Click Install.
-
Enable the checkbox next to the extension to activate it.
Do Not Extract the ZIP
Install the ZIP file directly — do not extract it first. Blender handles the extraction automatically.
Updating an Extension
-
If installed via Superhive: Updates will appear automatically in the Extensions tab. Click Update to install.
-
If installed manually: Download the new ZIP file from your purchase platform, then:
- Recommended: Uninstall the old version first (click Remove in the Extensions tab).
- Restart Blender.
- Install the new ZIP file following Method 2 above.
