Sharing with the Community

A dedicated space has been created for users to share materials with the community!

Important

No asset or information of any sort will be automatically shared or distributed. The only way to share a material is if you manually decide to do so by posting the file in the discord channel.

Privacy

All materials and information are STORED LOCALLY, your materials and lists are completely private and nothing is shared remotely.

Exporting Materials

Here's how to export your materials for sharing:

  1. Select the material you wish to share from your Vault.
  2. Expand the Share & Exchange menu located at the bottom of the panel.
  3. Click Export .vault.

This process generates two files:

  • MaterialName.vault: Contains the material data.
  • MaterialName_preview.jpg: A 512x512 pixel preview image, suitable for use as a cover image in your post.

Posting on Discord

To share your material on the Sanctus Discord server:

  1. Join the The Vault in Sanctus Discord.
  2. Click New Post.
  3. Fill in the post details as follows:

    • Title: Enter the name of your material.
    • Image: Drag and drop the _preview.jpg file first. This will serve as the cover image for your post.
    • File: Drag and drop the .vault file.
    • Description: Include relevant tags (e.g., Wood, Metal) and specify the Blender version used to create the material.

Importing Materials

Follow these steps to import materials shared by others:

  1. Download the .vault file from Discord.
  2. In the addon, select the category where you want to add the imported material. Then, click Import .vault.
  3. Select the downloaded .vault file. The material will be instantly installed into your library.
